Course Info
5k Citizen’s Race
This challenging course consists of 1 (spectator friendly) 5k loop, and is a nice mix of beautiful single track, and groomed nordic trails, meandering through the Vermont woods. The course is very well marked, and is almost exactly 5k. Maps and elevation profile will be available shortly. The course will have approximately 600 feet of vertical gain.
10k Championship
This challenging course consists of 2 (spectator friendly) 5k loops, and is a nice mix of beautiful single track, and groomed nordic trails, meandering through the Vermont woods. The course is very well marked, and is almost exactly 10k. Maps and elevation profile will be available shortly. The course will have approximately 1,200 feet of vertical gain.
Awards
Awards will be given to the top 3 overall men and women, and to the top 3 men and women in each 10 year age group.
Snowshoe Size
* Snowshoes must have at least 120 square inches of FUNCTIONAL SURFACE AREA. Most adult model shoes meet these criteria. But children’s shoes do not.
Loaner Shoes Available
A limited number of loaner (racing model) snowshoes will be provided by Dion Snowshoes. There is a $5 rental fee payable the day of the race. Email Bob Dion at dion@bcn.net to reserve a pair of shoes.
Snow Conditions
As of February 7th, 2017 there is a very solid base of 6″ to 24″, covered in 2″ of new fluffy snow.
